Now to rebuild the vertical sliders to control
the heat and ac temp....

Both levers will be locked together, above pic the sliders are
are all the way down, below they are all the way up

There's only an 1-1/2" movement, I need to extend one
of these two legs to get 2-1/8" of movement....

I chose the lower, bent leg, and started making sketches.....
Will use the pointed lever system as was originally
intended by Vintage Air with these 0 - 5 ohm slider sensors....

Laid it out on cardboard, then on a piece of ss I had....

Cut it out and checked it on my sketch, looked ok to go....

Drilled some holes and mounted it....

Movement from closed to open looks ok....

Cut a piece of aluminum to fit and screwed it on....

Mounted the resistance slider and checked it out, above is full closed
(sliders full down)

Below is full open (sliders full up)

That's the way it looked on the original drawings
for the original sedan setup, so I think I'm ok with this....

--Cable Operated Vents--

Got some new vents and cables....

The old stuff was pretty rusted up,
so I wanted new stuff....

The screws holding the old parts in are something
from way back, clutch head screws, they need
a special screwdriver, I dug around in my Dad's old
toolbox and found a screwdriver that would fit....
I got lucky....

Checking out the new vent cables and they are a bit too long,
so I'm going to shorten them to fit the way I want....
